J: The last time we spoke someone had tried to burn down the temple in Salem, and this year somebody threw a pipe bomb. I think that a lot of people see TST as a trolling organization, without thinking that, regardless of anything else, there are many people who take it seriously enough to want you all dead.

Lucien: This is just the reality I've had to internalize. Even getting a K-9 dog... I probably wouldn't have gone through that kind of seismic lifestyle shift if this wasn't the case. Fortunately for me, I always anticipated this kind of thing. It was never a joke to me. I felt that democracy was under threat and that we had a real theocratic movement trying to execute a coup in the United States, and they've made great gains toward that end.
